The National Executive Committee of the Labour Party has agreed to establish working groups to progress planned Party reform processes. As part of these processes, regional consultation events are being organised to ensure members have an opportunity to engage and feed into the process.
If you would like to attend the discussion event and engage in the Labour Party’s gender representation consultation process, then please RSVP below. Equally, if you know of any other members who would like to get involved, please do pass the invite on.
In the afternoon, from 2-4pm, Cambridge CLP Women's Officer Councillor Ann Sinnott is organising a workshop event 'Caring and Politics - Can they be combined?' This session will address the need for more women in politics at both national and local levels whilst exploring the issue that whether in relation to children or elderly relatives, the majority of women are, or will become, Carers. Questions including 'Are there barriers that deter Carers from standing for office? What can be done to persuade Carers to stand for office and/or to stay in office once they become Carers? What is it like to hold office in conjunction with caring-responsibilities?' will be discussed. For more information, please contact Ann on email@example.com.
