
Douglas Alexander in Bedford to speak with residents about how Labour is changing the world International Development Secretary, Douglas Alexander MP was in Bedford with local Labour MP, Patrick Hall to meet with local people about Labour's work to fight poverty around the world.
The meeting- organised by Patrick Hall MP - saw faith groups and local residents meet to discuss the government's international development work with the minister responsible. Douglas answered a wide range of questions on subjects ranging from Palestine to aid and political violence in Kenya. Speaking after the meeting, Labour's International Development Secretary Douglas Alexander MP said: "It was great to be able to come to Bedford and speak with so many people of different faiths about the work that this Labour Government is doing to tackle poverty around the world.
"Patrick Hall is an extremely hard-working MP for Bedford and Kempston and I know that he will continue to feed back to me what local people tell him about our work to end global poverty." |
