Claire Ward praises school exam results Claire Ward has offered her thanks to all teachers and teaching assistants, parents and pupils in Watford for their hard work this year. The provisional figures for Hertfordshire LEA shows that 85% of pupils received Level 4 or above in their English Key Stage 2 test results for 11 year olds, 82% in Maths and 91% in Science. That represents an increase since 1998 of 13%, 18% and 14% respectively. The results for individual primary schools will be announced later in the year.
Labour's Claire Ward MP said: "This sustained improvement is excellent news and I know it is only possible thanks to the hard work of those involved. "Government investment since 1997 has made a real difference too; with more teachers, new buildings and smaller class sizes. "Of course more must be done to ensure that all children achieve their full potential. That's why the government has announced it will roll out one-to-one and small group tuition for children who are falling behind. "This will make a huge difference to thousands of children in the coming years, not least in Watford"
